If you’re about to marry or planning to wed in autumn 2018, the season is a big influence. Here’s some autumn wedding styling inspiration to help you create a table setting to truly delight your guests.

Delight with oranges, reds and golds

autumn wedding stylingAutumn conjures up ideas for colour pretty much straight away. Oranges, reds and golds instantly spring to mind to create warmth and personality to welcome your guests. My table design features a burnt orange silk table runner adorned with dark-green glossy foliage of the ruscus plant. Yellow berries and the orange brown sedum from my garden complete the plant life for this autumn wedding table.

The sedum is coming to the end of it’s life this year, but I love how it is soft and architecturally structural at the same time. The berries need careful selection as they have thorns. These need nicking off in case fingers decide to pry into the arrangement!

I chose a combination of two very different plates to add to the tablescape.

The lower plate is glass with some stunning details. It allows the burnt orange silk table runner to shine through from below. Accent is created with a marbled china side plate in shades of gold and rich creams.

Ignite all the senses in your autumn wedding table

The cutlery I have selected is something quite special. Bone handles with ridging details make them delightfully tactile and a pleasure to place between your fingers. These were found in the depth’s of my father’s workshop and what a find they are! The sense of touch can easily be incorporated into your table setting, so make use of it.

Then the red and orange candles and the red heart shaped LED lights add the essential sparkle to this autumnal wedding table – as well as a lovely warm glow.

Candles can also be scented. Autumn wedding styling brings a chance to engage yet another of the senses! And with this they can conjure up moods and feelings for your guests. Think cinnamon, candied peel and mixed spice.

For the stationery, burnt orange brown continues in my autumn wedding theme. The menu background has the lightly graded image of leaves. The fonts have understated curls and curved edges. The addition of deep grey for the menu detailing means the burnt colours are not overused. The description of each course can also stand out on it’s own merit.

I have also used leaves, collected from the garden, to scatter around the menu card. The combination of rich browns and greys stand out against the burnt orange silk table runner. And they add texture and sound to continue the excitement for the senses to a further level.

Think autumnal for after dinner treats

Once you reach the end of the wedding breakfast, don’t lose the seasonal feel. For an autumn wedding think fruit teas in berry and cinnamon combinations. Add berry flavoured macaron dusted with gold and filled with chocolate to leave your guests with a beautiful combination of sweetness and warmth.
